BALDRINE, ISLE OF MAN

Location: Baldrine, Isle of Man

Status: Planning Approval Granted

The project is situated near Baldrine, on the edge of a residential area and within an area of Manx countryside. The design pays tribute to the Vernacular Architecture typically found in the countryside of the Isle of Man whilst lending itself to contemporary living and the brief of the client.

The brief called for a house big enough for the extended family, who regularly visit, whilst not feeling cavernous when occupied only by the couple the remainder of the time. The proposed solution is a design that consists of a main unit and two separate annexes, with glazed links connecting them, each of which can be shut off when not required.
